BIO
Originally from Mauritius, I came to UK in 2001 with my three children and the youngest was 5 years old. Everything was different from our lifestyle in Mauritius and I felt unqualified to find a job. I was a stay-at-home mother and I loved it. I learned how to become an active listener, how to read the body language, to be patient, compassionate when they made mistakes. The hardest personal challenge was to accept that I was not always right and I had to explore why there was so much resistance in me to acknowledge that fact. This wrestling of my inner thoughts brought me on a journey of understanding who I am.
Without realising it, I had already started practising counselling methods at home and this led me to pursue a Counselling degree.
Today, I am so proud of my three boys and can say that it was worth staying at home for them. I am a trained and fully qualified integrative psychotherapist with a BA(Hons) in Counselling and Theology.
